Hey, you. Yes, you!

The human possibly juggling work, life, relationships, and probably a million other things right now - trying to figure out if attended a Mental Health First Aid training course is for you, or even how to fit it into your busy schedule?

If you want to skip to the short answer to “who is MHFA training for”: It’s for everyone.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is for all of us—humans, trying to navigate life and let’s be real, struggling at times and probably supporting others around us who are struggling at times also.

Whether you’re an employee, a manager, a parent, a friend, or even just a neighbour, taking a Mental Health First Aid course is for you.

Here’s why:

1. You Don’t Have to Be a Professional to Help.

Let’s clear something up right away: You don’t need to be a degree to make a difference. Professionals, therapist, councillors, physiologist and physiatrists all have their place, and so do Mental Health First Aid.

This course won’t teach you to be a professional or to take the place of any of the professionals in our mental health system. What it will teach you is how to be someone who can have real, open conversations about mental health. You’ll have the tools to listen, offer support and help others feel like they’re not alone. And that, can be life-changing.

Think of it this way: remember the inkwell? The one that once held the ink to create and change the world, one pen stroke at a time? That’s what this course is like. It’s about filling your own inkwell with knowledge, so that when the moment comes, you’ve got the right tools to have an impactful conversation and support someone in need.

2. Mental Health Affects Us All.

Everyone, at some point or another, deals with their own or supporting someone else through mental health challenges. It’s no longer something that should be whispered about behind closed doors. Depression, anxiety, burnout—they don’t discriminate.

As a trained Mental Health First Aider you become one of the first lines of support in your community. Often people need someone to notice, to listen and to help them find additional support. When you take our MHFA course, you’ll learn how to spot those early signs, give support, and, most importantly, make sure people feel heard—something that’s so often missing when it comes to the conversations, we have in our day to day lives.

Whether it’s a friend or colleague feeling overwhelmed, you’ve leave MHFA training having the skills to deal with these challenges in a supportive, compassionate way and connecting them to additional support networks if required.

3. We’re the strength of our community.

Here’s what we think: the world needs more empathy, understanding, and connection.

MHFA training is all about building those skills. It’s about creating a ripple effect where we all feel empowered to support one another. When you take the course, you’re joining a movement—a community that’s willing to have tough, vulnerable conversations and, in turn, shift the culture around mental health.

And trust us, that’s something worth showing up for.

4. Because It’s Time to Rewrite mental health conversations.

Here’s where you come in—when you take a Mental Health First Aid training course, you become a part of the new narrative.

A narrative where mental health isn’t something we hide from, where it’s okay to not be okay, but where we support each other to move back into being okay. where we have the knowledge to help ourselves and others. We’re writing this story together—and it starts with the willingness to show up, learn, and take action.

At Inkwell, we’re all about filling your personal inkwell with the knowledge, tools, and insights you need to spark change—whether in your own life or the lives of those around you. Mental Health First Aid is one of those courses that does just that.

So, who should attend a Mental Health First Aid course? You. And anyone else who wants to be a part of creating a more compassionate, understanding, and supportive world.

Ready to dip your quill into the ink and make a difference? Let’s rewrite the story, together.
